It is a "huge honour" for Air Marshal Sir Bruce Ferguson to be asked to speak at Tauranga's World War I exhibition.
Sir Bruce is the former chief of the New Zealand Defence Force, former director of the Government Communications Security Bureau and was director of the Security Intelligence Service.
He lived in Tauranga from 1958, attending Merivale School, Tauranga Intermediate and Tauranga Boys' College before joining the military in 1969, aged 18.
